Govan Underground Station Entry Plaza
Brindley Associates were appointed by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport to redesign the entry plaza of the Govan Underground Train Station in Glasgow.
The existing space is run down and represents a poor first impression of Govan to people arriving by bus or on the underground. Our brief was to redesign the entry plaza to create a hard wearing, robust and attractive urban space that would contribute positively to the ongoing regeneration of the area.
We were involved in extensive consultation, both with Glasgow City Council representatives and with members of the community via open days and community consultation events to ensure that the design was acceptable both to our client and to the public.
The project has been designed and detailed and is currently out to tender.
