Going Underground..
We have now completed the masterplan, detail hard landscape designs and specifications for the Govan Underground Entry Plaza & Bus Station for SPT.  The proposals, part of the wider Govan Cross Improvements Scheme, have been approved by GCC and are now out to tender.  Jane is looking forward to getting her teeth into a bit of contract administration prior to her Chartership exam in May.

Goodbye to Gwen
We recently said ‘Goodbye’ to Gwen who has moved on to pastures new.  We wish her the best of luck and are sure she will do well in her new job.  Gwen originally came to us in 2006 as a year out student from Edinburgh College of Art, we sponsored her through her final year back at Uni and then she returned to work with us in 2008 after graduation.

New Eco Visitor Centre
We are pleased to announce that the LVIA for the wind turbine and the new Eco Visitor Centre at Beecraigs for West Lothian Council received planning approval in January.  Joanne & Jane are now working closely with EK:JN architects, Cundells & Arups on the detailed external hard and soft landscape layout to provide a sustainable landscape for a multitude of different users including walkers, cyclists, horse– riders and school groups.

GVA Grimley Appoint Brindley Associates
We are delighted to be working with GVA Grimley again, on a new project in Ayrshire providing one of their clients with a review of a Landscape Capacity Study and a LVIA for a potential new development site.

LVIA for Calcarb
Ross & Laura recently completed a LVIA for a wind turbine associated with the Calcarb factory at Eurocentral.  Approval of the turbine will mean that the factory will be able to generate a sustainable source of energy thus halving it’s annual electricity consumption and reducing running costs for the factory.

Business Women of the Month
West Lothian Women in Business recently awarded Joanne with the title of Business Women of the Month for October. Joanne has recently given presentations to West Lothian Women in Business and the West Lothian Big Breakfast explaining how Brindley Associates has developed over the past 11 years and discussing the approach the business has taken to the credit crunch. Woman in Business aim to help women in their professional lives by providing role models, developing positive thinking, promoting business skills, career development and networking.

Hudson Homes Appoint Brindley Associates
Brindley Associates are pleased to have been commissioned by Hudson Homes, an Edinburgh based property developer that specialises in delivering high-quality and unique developments across Scotland. We are carrying out ecological scoping, landscape masterplanning and both hard and soft landscape detailed design for a 150 unit residential development in the Scottish Borders.

New Ecologist
We are delighted to welcome Vicky Hughes to Brindley Associates. Vicky is an IEEM registered ecologist and joins us with over ten years of experience working for local authorities and statutory consultees.  Using her excellent field ecology skills, Vicky will be providing support to Andy on a number of Ecological Impact Assessments, European Protected Species Surveys and Tree Condition Surveys.

Planning Consent for Branna
We are pleased to announce that planning consent has been given to Branna Industrial and Technical Services Ltd, to construct a wind turbine at the Rosti factory in Strutherhill Industrial Estate, Larkhall.  Brindley Associates provided Branna with a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment of the proposed turbine. 

Rosti will now be able to generate its own renewable electricity, saving around 68 per cent of its present electricity costs and securing their current levels of operations in Larkhall.
