We are recruiting! The role available will involve both landscape design and landscape assessment work, along with project management and business development duties, working on a wide variety of projects.

Whilst a Chartered Landscape Architect would be preferred, please don’t hesitate to apply if have not yet completed your chartership, all good applications will be considered.

Stewart’s Resort Retirement Lodges Consented

Delighted to hear that Stewart’s Resort secured planning consent for 35 Luxury Residential Retirement Park Homes recently. The development will be a secure gated community adjacent to the existing new Luxury Lodge Park near St Andrews.

We were pleased to provide a wide range of services for this project, including masterplan design, landscape design, landscape assessment, visualisations and ecological services.

ISO 9001:2015 Training

We all had a very useful ISO9001:2015 Internal Quality Auditor training session with CQS (Certified Quality Systems) Ltd this week.

ISO 9001 is a set of requirement that define how a Quality Management System should be established and implemented in order to achieve continual improvement and manage risk.

Brindley is already accredited with the IS0 9001 certification, and the training this week will help us to build on those foundations.

Looking forward to streamlining and improving some of our processes in the coming weeks!

Welcome Sarah

Welcome to Sarah, who has recently joined the team as an Office Administrator / PA to the directors.

Sarah provides vital general office management and support to the team. She manages the the day-to-day running of the office, assists with maintenance of our project management system and provides PA support to our directors.

Having previously worked in supervisory, management and customer services positions for a number of years, Sarah has an invaluable skill-set which benefits the entire team.

Welcome Sophie

Welcome to Sophie, who recently joined the team with a paid internship, as part of the third year of her degree in Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art.

She is primarily assisting with landscape design projects, providing Landscape Layout and Planting Plan drawings for residential developments. In addition to this Sophie is assisting with graphics production for LVIA, including GIS mapping and viewpoint photography.

10 Year Anniversary

Congratulations to Gwilym, who recently reached his 10 year anniversary with Brindley! He’s now the third member of the team to reach this milestone, joining Suzanne and Ross as company veterans.

He joined the practice in 2012 after graduating with an MA in Landscape Architecture from Edinburgh College of Art. Since joining us, Gwilym has worked on a huge range of design projects, most notably The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA). https://www.brindleyassociates.co.uk/portfolio/teca/

Hallhill North Consented

Delighted to hear that Taylor Wimpey secured planning permission for their Hallhill North development.

The visualisations team in particular really enjoyed working on this project, where they produced a suite of CGI images to illustrate the development layout design, as well as the open space and natural play area. Producing digital models of bug hotels was especially good fun!

The ecological enhancement measures being proposed for this site are also fantastic, great to see a developer putting so much thought into integrating wildlife enhancement into the design.

Looking forward to seeing the development once built.

We have moved!

We are very excited to announce that we have moved!

We now have a top floor office in Dolphin House, Hunter Square – and are really enjoying to being in Edinburgh City Centre now office working is starting to return.

The finishing touches to the office space are still being put in, but we are already loving our new space.

It would be great to start seeing you all in person again soon, so please get in touch if you would like to meet up for a coffee (or something stronger…)
