Hawkwood Wind Farm Receives Planning Consent
Brindley Associates is pleased to announce that Hawkwood Wind Farm has received planning consent, representing an important milestone for the project and the wider transition towards renewable energy generation in Scotland.
Our team provided the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA), Residential Visual Amenity Assessment (RVAA), and the full suite of visualisations submitted in support of the planning application for the proposed five-turbine wind farm.
The project required a detailed evaluation of landscape and visual effects, supported by accurate and transparent visual representations of the proposed development. Working closely with the wider consultant team, we delivered a comprehensive package of assessment and visualisation work to assist decision-makers, consultees and local communities in understanding the proposal and its potential effects.
One particularly interesting aspect of the project was the incorporation of nearby forestry schemes within the visualisations. Several areas of woodland had either been recently planted or had received consent but were not yet visible on the ground at the time the viewpoint photography was undertaken. By modelling these forestry schemes alongside the proposed wind farm, the visualisations provided a more realistic representation of the future landscape context and helped demonstrate how woodland growth may influence views over the lifetime of the development.
The successful consent of Hawkwood Wind Farm reflects the collaborative efforts of the project team and demonstrates how carefully considered renewable energy developments can contribute towards Scotland’s energy security and net zero objectives.
We would like to congratulate our client and all members of the project team on securing this positive outcome and look forward to seeing the project progress.
